The Drawbacks Of Using Ab Machines For Your Ab Workout
Developing a superb looking abdominals doesn’t just happen, it takes workouts, the right exercises and the correct diet to make it all come together. But what part can ab workout machines play? Should you be using them? Do they help or slow down your progress? That’s what this post will explore, and you might be surprised with the results.
The Reason that isolated workouts aren’t as good
Using an ab machine only focuses on the abs and not the rest of the body. Of course infomercials for the latest gadgets that have come out in the last decade suggest that they are the end all be all to get six pack abs that’s unfortunately quite far from the truth. Ab machines can develop very strong abdominal muscles, but you will struggle with a six pack? Why? That’s what we’ll talk about next.
Percentage Body Fat is Causing the Problem
You may very well have the strongest abs in the world, but if you’re body fat percentage isn’t bely 10% or a man or about 12% for a women you’re won’t be able to see the definition of the 6 pack. There is usually a thin layer of tummy fat covering over our abs of even those people most fit in the world. To have success you must combine abdominal training with fat burning exercises to lose abdominal fat before you can start showing off your sexy mid section.
The Abdominal and Belly Fat solution
Not focusing on just your abs with abdominal workout machines is the first step. The second step is getting into workouts that don’t just build lean muscle but also help you burn fat. Before you run to the treadmill for a thirty minute run. A much better choice, and an option that isn’t quite as boring, is doing multi joint exercises.
So what exactly are multi joint exercises? Think dead lifts, lunges or any exercise that requires you to move around while move weight. This works more then just an isolated area of your body and will accelerate fat burning all over your body and not just in the area you’re exercising.
